When I first saw Kristie Clements (the Editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia) tweet that Isabel Lucas was going to be the December cover girl I was disapointed. Mainly due to the fact that Vogue Australia tend to have created some terrible covers in their past (they have had a pretty good year cover wise), and that I am not the biggest Isabel Lucas fan.
To my surprise, the cover actually looks fantastic, and her eyes are saying 'buy me'. My favourite Vogue Australia have been the ones that have little text on them. These covers are much more clearer then the ones cluttered with text.
Vogue Australia has also done a fantastic job to catering to Isabel's style, instead for example dressing her up 'Hollywood glamour' style. My favourite celebrity covers of any magazines are the ones when they cater to the celebrities look, not make them look like something they are not.
Another fantastic thing this cover has is that it was shot in the outdoors. Covers that are shot in studios tend to look boring and repetitive.
They have also done a fantastic job with the 'Vogue' font, the texture looks incredible.
Hopefully this cover is a sign that Vogue Australia will start to be more creative instead of 'being inspired' by their international counterparts. I am so excited to see this editorial, and the rest of this issue.

I love this cover, it's so unique! I just hope Montana from Australia's Next Top Model ends up on the cover eventually :)
ReplyDelete^If Montana works hard enough she has the capability to appear on the cover of any Vogue around the world
